LipiHaus (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates a public directory of South Asian businesses and creators in the United States at lipihaus.com (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
By using the Site or submitting a listing, you agree to the practices described here. Please also see our Terms of Service.
Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account email. To submit a listing or check its status, you sign in with a passwordless magic link sent to your email address. We store that email to authenticate you and to contact you about your submission.
- Listing details. When you submit a business, we collect the name, category, city, state, description, website, Instagram handle, and any cover image you choose to upload.
- Chat input. If you use “Lipi,” our onboarding assistant, the messages you type are sent to our AI provider to help you draft your listing. Your conversation is also saved in your own browser.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data. Like most websites, we receive basic technical information such as browser type, device, and pages visited.
We do not ask for payment card or financial information. No purchases or transactions take place on the Site.
How we use your information
- To create and authenticate your account.
- To review your submission and publish approved listings in the directory.
- To respond to your requests and contact you about your listing.
- To operate, maintain, and improve the Site.
- To protect against fraudulent or abusive submissions.
What is published
Approved listings are public. Once approved, the business details you submitted (name, category, location, description, website, Instagram, and image) are visible to anyone browsing the directory. Your account email address is not displayed publicly.
How we share information
- Service providers. We use trusted third-party services to run the Site—including our hosting and database platform, email delivery, and AI provider. These providers process information only to deliver services on our behalf.
- Legal requirements. We may disclose information when required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
We do not sell your personal information.
Data retention
We keep your submission and account email for as long as your listing is active and afterward as needed for legitimate business or legal reasons. You may ask us to delete your listing and associated submission at any time (see “Your choices” below).
Your choices
- Access or update. You can review your submissions from the submission status page after signing in.
- Request deletion. Contact us at hello@lipihaus.com to request removal of your listing or account.
- Marketing. You may opt out of any non-essential emails by following the instructions in the message.
Your privacy rights (US state laws)
If you are a resident of California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, or another state with a privacy law, you may have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale of personal information. Because we do not sell personal information, the right to opt out of sale does not apply. To exercise any right, contact us at hello@lipihaus.com.
Children’s privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact us and we will remove it.
Links to other sites
The directory links to businesses’ own websites and social media profiles. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those external sites.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is fully secure.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent revision.
